Dear Members and Friends of the Cathedral,

Happy Independence Day Weekend! Let us praise God together for 250 years of our country.

The parish office will be closed tomorrow in observance of the holiday. Have fun and be safe. We will have Mass and adoration on First Friday as usual, closing with Benediction at 2 p.m.

This weekend Father Riley is away, so I’ll hear confessions on Saturday and preside for all the Masses. I should warn you, though: I cut my face in an accident at home last night. I have a black eye and some scar tissue. You’ll think I’m preparing for Halloween instead of the Fourth of July. I’m fine—just have to heal up. But I really look awful, so be forewarned!

Those interested in joining the church meet Sunday mornings. If you know someone who would like more information, please invite them to fill out our form.

Adult faith formation starts a new series on Monday night, discussing the Bible Timeline.

Later this month Dr. Mario Pearson will be bringing the Cathedral Schola to Prague for concerts there. Congratulations to all of our singers! Come hear the program this Tuesday night at 6:30—under an hour. A freewill offering will help cover some of the expenses.

The pastoral council meets on Wednesday.

Application forms for positions on our staff are here. We are seeking an events coordinator and a director of stewardship and development.

Thanks to those who are contributing to our various funds. We could really use your help on debt reduction. Our debt and interest payments are hurting us from accomplishing more. If you’d like to contribute, go here.

In Christ,

P. S.  I fly to Washington DC for meetings a couple of times a year. Here’s a shot of the Washington Monument from a recent visit.
