Dear Members and Friends of the Cathedral,
This Sunday we welcome couples celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this year to participate at the 11 a.m. Mass with Bishop Johnston. Our own Mike and Cheri Throop are among them. Congratulations!
I’ll celebrate reconciliation with you on Saturday afternoon and then preside for Mass at 2:30 and again at 9 a.m. on Sunday, when we welcome some unbaptized adults formally beginning their preparation for life in Christ. Mass will begin outdoors. Father Ken presides at 8 p.m.
Those interested in joining the church meet Sunday mornings at 10. If you know someone who would like more information, please invite them to fill out our form.
Adult faith formation continues on Monday evening. Come learn about Saints and Women of the Bible.
The pastoral council meets Wednesday night.
My pledge card for the Annual Catholic Appeal arrived in the mail this week. The envelope also included the pledge form for the cathedral’s annual appeal. You may fill these out at any time, but we’ll make time for you to do so at church on the weekend of September 19 and 20.
If you’d like to help the cathedral as a volunteer in the St. Joseph Gift Shop, please go to our website and click, “Get involved.”
In Christ,

P. S. Monday is the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. In Zipaquirá, Colombia, the salt Cathedral has a stunning set of Stations of the Cross in its underground mines. Here’s a photo I took when I visited there in 2015.
