In the liturgical celebrations each person, minister or layman, who has an office to perform, should do all of, but only, those parts which pertain to his office by the nature of the rite and the principles of liturgy. Servers, lectors, (musicians) and members of the choir also exercise a genuine liturgical function. They ought, therefore, to discharge their office with the sincere piety and decorum demanded by so exalted a ministry and rightly expected of them by God's people. Consequently they must all be deeply imbued with the spirit of the liturgy, each in his own measure, and they must be trained to perform their functions in a correct and orderly manner.

Commitment is an important key to being a faithful servant to the Cathedral community and your ministry. Everyone counts on you to honor the serving assignment you have agreed to fulfill. The schedules contain phone information of people currently involved in your ministry. If you know you're going to be out of town, please take the time to call someone within your ministry ahead of time to substitute for you.

Please contact the Sacristan for your Mass as soon as possible if there is an emergency and you cannot make your Mass assignment. If you know you are going to be away, please contact someone in your ministry to substitute for you. That information is available by emailing Dr. Pearson. Information sheets are also available in the sacristy.
