Paul Kim, Director The Emergency Assistance Services Office is open Tuesday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The Emergency Assistance Office is located at 1112 Broadway.
Contact Information Our service area is State Line Road on the west side, 19th Street on the south side, Campbell Avenue on the east side, and the Missouri River on the north side. If living outside of that area, please call the United Way at 816-474-5112 or at 211 to find the closest agency. Cathedral Emergency Assistance offers in-kind goods (clothing, food, and personal items) and financial assistance (rent, utilities, transportation, medical prescriptions, identification/legal documents) to low-income persons in the downtown area.
Greyhound bus tickets: In the destination city, you must have a family member with a serious medical emergency or a funeral for a child relative. The relative’s doctor or hospital must fax or e-mail verification of the emergency. They do NOT need to tell us the nature of the emergency. The funeral home must fax or e-mail verification of the funeral AND that the deceased is a relative. One-ride bus fare card: documentation of need such as a job interview with a company that has a yellow page listing, medical appointment, service appointment at government or non-profit agencyGasoline for car: Valid driver’s license, valid insurance, proof of ownership. The driver must also be the owner. |
